Go bottomless this Halloween

And no, I don’t mean get so drunk that you lose your trousers in the smoking area at 3am. I am, of course, talking about bottomless brunch. Yes, as everything is going bottomless nowadays, why not Halloween?! We all love a bit of day drinking, and now that the weather’s turned, day drinking is pretty much all we have left of the rapidly dwindling summer months.

From ball pit parties with unending prosecco, to restaurant meals with unlimited tankards of beer, there’s something for everyone this Halloween. In my effort to get everyone in my life as excited for Halloween as I am, I have pulled together a whistle-stop tour of the best places to get spooky at around lunchtime this Hallows Eve. Who said it had to be dark out to get your freak on?!

1. Ballie Ballerson, Shoreditch

Where: 97-113 Curtain Road, Hackney, London Ec2A 3Bs, London EC2A 3BS

When: Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October 2021

What makes it so great: Ballie Ballerson has acquired somewhat of a cult status amongst Londoners since it arrived on our doorstep as a “one month only” pop up in Dalston in November 2016. Since then, Ballerson has occupied a nostalgic paradise in the hearts of all that visit this, absolutely bonkers, place. They are going all out this Halloween with a bottomless brunch that will get even the most stone-hearted amongst your friends’ group, into the true spirit of Halloween; getting hammered whilst dressed as a zombie. All things are relative (especially the inside London/outside London divide), but the bottomless brunch is a bargain too – it’ll only set you back upwards of £30! Hurry up, get your tickets now!

2. Luna Springs, Birmingham

Where: Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth Arena, Birmingham B9 4AG

When: 23rd October – 31st October 2021

What makes it so great: Fancy some guac with your Halloween celebrations? If you’ve watched Disney’s Coco, strap yourself in for this. Luna Springs in Birmingham is bringing you those Day of the Dead vibes with a bottomless brunch that’s sure to make you scream. They’re giving the Springs a spooky makeover and most importantly, packing this brunch with enough booze to wake the dead and satisfy the living. They’ll be an hour of free-flowing bubbles and beer, the juiciest burgers in town, plus periodic zombie flash mobs that will be sure you scare you and your unsuspecting mates! Get your tickets here.

3. Lost Boys Pizza, Camden

Where: 245 Eversholt Street, London Nw 1 1Ba, London NW1 1BA

When: Saturday 30th October and Sunday 31st October

What makes it so great: If The Lost Boys was one of your favourite Halloween films growing up, then we can be friends. Congratulations… if you want to be my friend, that is. Cashing in on our love of classic Hollywood films, Lost Boys Pizza is a bar and pizza restaurant that has really leaned into the whole supernatural-vampire theme. They do this all year round, so you can be sure to expect good things of their Halloween celebrations – after all, they’re experts, right?? They’ll be shots on arrival, pizza for everybody, and a choice of some of their most delectable cocktails. You can even win an unspecified prize in their Best Dressed competition. See here for more.

4. On Bar, Manchester

Where: 46 Canal Street, Manchester, M1 3WD

When: Saturday 30th October 2021

What makes it so great: I don’t know what it is about movie-themed brunches at the moment, but I am living for them. On Bar is bringing you the Miss Blair Witch Project this Halloween, with three witches wanting to wreak havoc on Canal Street! Probably one of the best drag shows you’ll catch this Hallows Eve; Liquorice Black is one of my personal favourite drag queens. I’m almost considering venturing up to Manny to see her live again… they’ll be ghoulish performances, hosting from the three wicked sisters, a delicious brunch, one and a half hours of bottomless bubbles, plus a special prize for the best Halloween costume! Check it out here.

5. Rocky Horror Brunch, Dulwich

Where: 193, Crystal Palace Road, London, SE22 9EP

When: Saturday 30th October 2021

What makes it so great: This is another movie themed brunch, but who’s complaining?! Every year, Halloween films are a terror-ific way to get us in the spooky mood. This brunch is no different, inviting you to Dr Frankenfurter's castle to become part of everyone's favourite cult movie musical. With dancing, singing, cabaret, and some of south-east London’s finest drag acts, they’ll be glitter AND blood dripping from the ceilings in the end of your brunch. 6. SWX Social Sessions, Bristol

Where: 16 Nelson Street, Bristol BS1 2JY

When: Saturday 30th October 2021

What makes it so great: Now clubbing happens in the day too. AM to PM. Christina Milian was right. If you got that reference, then you too must’ve been privy to the joys of Pop Party 2. SWX are traditionally a straight-up late-night venue but now they’re getting in on the bottomless brunch spirit too. With a costume ball and three different stages each showcasing a new genre; stage one will be bringing house, dance & bass, stage two will be repping R&B, grime, bashment & hip hop, and stage three hosting party anthems, there’s something for everybody at SWX this Halloween. They’ll be 90 minutes of unlimited beer, cider & prosecco, or you can upgrade for just £5pp for unlimited cocktails. A choice of pizza is also included in the price!
